This circuit is designed around a custom motion-detection IC (KC778B). The circuit utilizes both a PIR (Passive InfraRed) detector and a light-dependent resistor (LDR) to detect motion up to 6 meters away. Operates on 9-12 VDC. Note that the PIR sensor & the PCB-mounted fresnel lens fit on the "back" side (solder side) of the PCB. This allows the unit to be mounted inside a container with the detecting lens poking out and the controls facing the inside of the box.
