A miniature toggle switch soldered to a 1/4” phone plug can be used in place of a wired footswitch for the Theremax Mute function or Quadrafuzz Bypass operation.

Trim the plug terminals to be equal length, flow some solder to each of the jack terminals and two of the switch terminals, and complete the assembly by flowing the solder to join the two pieces. The switch shown is a SPDT (single-pole, double-throw). In the position shown, there is no connection between the tip and sleeve of the plug: The opposite setting connects the tip and sleeve terminals. This 'closed' setting Mutes Theremax and selects the effect mode for Quadrafuzz.
