I just got this little beauty and I'm finding my efforts to locate a manual are becoming thwarted... I have tested the modules, but I'd really like to get the vintage keyboard functional as well... I understand that these keyboards can perform polyphonically? The keyboard ties into an 8780 module... Can anyone help me out?

Also... I'd love to find some of those pin jacks. Anyone know where they can be found?

I have several digital 8782 keyboards. Although I haven't used them in a long long while, they are fun to play with. I would like to mention that there was a linear D/A in addition to the 8780 equally tempered D/A.
Paia never sold a kit for the linear D/A. IIRC, It was in an article in one
of the Polyphonys. Hmmm...I think the article was in one of the "Frendly Stories....." articles (?) Again, see the "files" section....

For polyphonic operation, you need the 8781 QuASH with the 8700 computer/controller running Poly 1.0 or MUS1, and really, a cabinet of modules for each voice.

If your goal is to sound more than one note, it might be best to just go with a newer keyboard instrument with on-board sounds and a MIDI connector and use a converter or FatMan to get cv and triggering for operating/slaving the module cabinet as a layered voice.

I spent the weekend playing with this thing. I had some minor repairs (the balanced modulator had a blown cap and diode) and tweaking. I used my Korg MS-20 to trigger it.

Still tho... Crazy fun! The Synth gods have smiled upon me!

I'm finding my bottom octave to be 3 octaves higher than the next two on the synthesizer. I'm also finding that the scan rate is accompanied with that annoying click. Is the scaling of the keyboard a function of the programming? Is there a program guide for that interface?

I am stymied by the truly expansive forethought given all of these modules.

I tore into the reverb unit last weekend and got it going. Seriously; what a well thought out set-up. Kudos to you guys!

It's a digitally scanned keyboard. Not analog. EACH note has a specific binary code. Sounds like you are missing a "bit". Check the diode matrix for the keyboard. Read "Frendly Stories About Computers/Synthesizers" about how the whole digital-to-music thing works. Specifically, pages 23-28 cover the digitally scanned keyboard matrix. But, you should read the entire series to learn how the D-2-A and keyboard interface together.
