Post subject:  What Gauge Was The Metal in The 2720/4700 System?

Greetings,

This is perhaps and odd question but I want to cut some panels to add to my old PAiA system and I was wondering if anybody could give me the approximate thickness of the metal that was used in the 2720/4700 systems. I'm thinking maybe 18 gauge but I could be wrong. Any thoughts would be terrific.

Thanks all!

Measuring one, I am seeing a thickness of 0.034 to 0.035 inches and referencing this against a guage chart, it looks like 20 quage is the best fit for these steel panels.

Heya Scott,
Years ago I recall you sent me a sheet of paper with the graphics for the 4700 filter.

For those of us who might want to totally refurbish their 4700/2700 systems with consistent graphics and new front panels, maybe even changing out the pin jacks with 3.5mm ones, what would you suggest? I have no idea if there would be a profitable market for PAiA to engage in, but the thought of black modules with white lettering in a custom cabinet sounds pretty cool to me.

If you have any thoughts please let me know.
