Hi y'all, I own an OZ which I love but I'm looking for mods, I'd like to add an EG for example or change of filter maybe... What is possible? Any feedback or recommendations appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!

check out Marvin Jones' Paia Archive site.

http://sonic.net/mjones/

Look for the "demo4" booklet. This has some setup configurations for the OZ and some external modules. He does not have the OZ assembly manual. I'm wondering if anyone does(?)

There's also a booklet called "The Source". This has a few patches for the OZ and the Gnome. The OZ and Gnome were always advertized as the
"perfect pair" for portable synthesis.

The OZ is basicly just the oscillator source with triggers.
It uses a TOG(TopOctaveGenerator) for the square wave waveform.
It has a STEP trigger and a PulseTrigger on the front panel.
Use the triggers to drive AD, ADSR which in turn drive VCFs and VCAs.

Your best source for a Gnome is Ebay, or other electronic music forums where used equipment is sold, as the Gnome kit has not been manufactured in decades. They do come up for sale occasionally. The Gnome originally sold for about $60 or $70.00, depending on the year (70s,80s), but auction prices vary, some have gone over $200, some much less.

If your download copy of the Radio Electronics article has jillions of lines in it, there is a better copy at the YahooGroups-PAiA site.

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/PAiASynth/

you will have to join, and get approved, but the "files" section has a clear copy of the Radio Electronics article for the OZ. LOTS! more PAiA stuff as well.

There's also jurgen/magnus' site: Cloned Analog Gear(CAG):

http://rubidium.dyndns.org/cag/

make sure you check out the entire site!!! move back to the root directory and look at all the data that is archived here.
Welcome to the Wonderful World of PAiA!
