Post power requirements for 9710, 9720, & 9730
looking for power requirements for these modules. Making sure I still have enough power left on my 9771-15 to add more modules in a second FR7 without needing to add another power module.

In general, would be nice to see the power requirements on the product page at the Paia website. ;)

is there a way I can use a multi-meter to determine power draw of these modules?

help?

This new paia.com/talk post over in the Technical Bulletins and Assembly Notes (9700 Series modules, modulars) lists them all:

viewtopic.php?f=22&t=705

To measure current flow, a dvm can be placed in series with the power supply wiring to a module for the mA reading, or easier perhaps, the voltage measured with the probes on each end of power input resistor divided by the resistor value.

R1 is the resistor linking the 9710, 9720 and 9730 to the positive power supply voltage: Probing each end of this resistor yields the amount of voltage dropped by the resistor.

Divide this voltage reading by the resistor value (22ohms) for the current flow in Amps.

As an example, the 9720 VCO voltage reading with the probes on each end of R1 is about 0.902V

Dividing the voltage across this R1 resistor by the value of the resistor in Ohms results in the current flow in Amps: 0.902 / 22 = 0.041, and, to change 0.041Amps to milliAmps, move the decimal three places to the right (multiply by 1000), for 41mA.

thanks very much for this and for and the current draw list.
Much appreciated Scott
