4780 sequencer behaving strange when installed
I got this paia 4700 system sans sequencer some time ago, and I have a 4780 sequencer kicking around in a drawer with some other modules. To keep it short, when I install it in the cabinet, the 1st and last step don't play and the pitch low. I established that nothing shorts between any modules and ...

Question about the midi2cv8 hz/v option
Does this convert the entire module to hz/v or does it allow to set the outputs to v/oct or hz/v individually? If not, is it possible to add a switch to switch the hz/v option in and out as needed? The reason I ask is that I recently acquired a 9700 modular, and now expecting a 4700 soon. I would li...

Re: Paia 2720 BPF improvements?
Getting back at this topic - I have a few more questions about the BPF and LPF: About the BPF - ModularMe pointed at an Electro-Music post that suggests that replacing capacitors C3, C4 and C5 with lower values would increase the Q of the BPF. I'm curious what would happen if I used unequal values, ...

Re: A cpl questions about 27xx LFO
Ok, this is not the same circuit I was talking about but this one is even simpler and uses one dual op-amp, 10 parts total if you count in the biasing circuit. I haven't tried this though, so don't ask me about it's performance. http://www.experimentalistsanonymous.com/diy/Schematics/Oscillators%20L...

Re: A cpl questions about 27xx LFO
There is a simple LFO schematic flying around the web somewhere. If I remember correctly, it puts out a triangle and a squarewave, and it utilizes a quad op-amp and just a handful of rc components. I'll have to look around and find it again. It's very simple and low parts count. I'll post a link to ...

Re: 4780 no trigger signal when synced to external clocl
Sorry for the late reply - to get the sequencer to retriggeer itself, you need to stick one end of a patch cable in the jack where you want the sequence to end and the other end in the jack where you want the sequence to begin. You can do some neat odd sequences by bridging steps withing that sequen...

A cpl questions about 27xx LFO
1. What kind of waveform does this LFO use? Sine or triangle? And if it's a triangle LFO, would I be able to say route the symmetry trimmer to the front and use that to change the triangle to rising/falling ramp? 2. Which components affect the depth and rate of the LFO and what would you suggest to ...

2720 noisy VCA problem
I finally got around replacing some modules in my working 2720 with those from the other one (the modules with the brown jacks). While the hum is mostly gone, and the signal is nice and strong (through the BPF at least), the VCA has some serious issues. There is a lot of noise and when patched to on...

Re: q for patrick
Unfortunately I did not document any of the mods, but then again most of them didn't work properly or not at all (to my observation) and most of the mods basically connected some modules internally with each other over a terminal strip (e. g. the VCO had a switch that routed it to the LFO, others af...

Re: 2720 Power supply - replaced capacitors, still hums.
Nope, didn't get around to do that yet, and I don't think that I'll have the time to do such extensive work in the near future, but that doesn't mean that I'll never get to it. But instead I decided to switch the power supply with the one from the Paia that I gutted (was crappily put together, to sa...
