Re: 2720 Power supply - replaced capacitors, still hums.

Ok, I'll give it a shot. Thanks for all your help! One thing I probably should have mentioned is that whoever worked on the power supply last, put power blocks on it that are way too big for the board. The outer one is only screwed down on one end and tilted to the side to make both fit, nearly (or ...

Re: 2720 Power supply - replaced capacitors, still hums.

Hmm I was thinking should I check the rectifiers and diodes on the power supply? Could a dying rectifier or diode be at least part of the problem?

Re: 2720 Power supply - replaced capacitors, still hums.

So you mean completely disassemble the modules, as in removing all components and solder them back on? Or were you talking about just remove the face plate and check the wiring between that and the circuit board? I think I'm just gonna start out with reinforcing the solder joints, before I go on wit...

I figured it out.. it was as simple as using an trs plug  should have taken some more time experimenting, heheh..

4780 no trigger signal when synced to external clocl

I mentioned this within a related topic but decided to keep this separate. I'll try to keep this short. I tried to sync the 4780 with an external clock (a modified Electro-Harmonix sequencer) and it works so far so good, but there's just one hitch - the trigger signal disappears when the clock is se...

So... any ideas? I replaced the caps but that didn't fix it. I'm utterly and completely mystified.. :?

Re: Question about 4780 sequencer

I was gonna ask how to sync the 4780 to an external clock but I figured it out. But for those who struggle with it - For some reason the clock signal needs to be patched through the panel, and patched from the audio panel to the CV panel (you'd need to forge a special cable with a phone plug one end...

Re: Issues with 4730 VCF, 4720 VCO

Before I forget about it - I replaced the 4700 VCO with the old 2700 VCO, and that one works fine, so yeah I'm gonna check the solder joints, etc of the 4700 VCO. I hope that I don't have to spend too much time on it. It still mystifies me that it worked fine when I tested it after recapping the pow...

Re: 3 topics in 1 - 2720 VCA , 4730 VCF & 4740 ADSR

Right, sorry for the topic overload. I was thinking since I already "spammed" this forum with all my 2/4700 troubles, why not make bundles. Guess I have to take everything apart and put it back together again, eh? Maybe someday when I have the time for it ;) Guess that's what I get from buying used ...

Stackable pin cables @ Mouser

I came across this looking for a suitable replacement for a pin plug on Mouser Electronics. These come in handy when you run out of jacks on the patch panel (which can happen very quickly) or there is no panel present, or simply for multiple/daisy chain patching to/from one jack. The brand name is P...
