Re: PAiA 2720 replacement keys

Thanks VM It might be simplest using a modern, low-cost MIDI keyboard controller, into a FatMan, and its CVs (pitch and velocity) and gate-trigger outputs to operate the 2720 modular. All the keyboards from this era stopped being made and stocked in the 80s. Email a photo to scott@paia.com and I'll ...

Re: Knobs, replacement, substitute

What about replacement knobs for the 4780???
The stock on these items zeroed long ago, but see these similar looking items which could possibly be adapted for the purpose:

Re: maximum length of module power cord?

The 9790 Power Cables can be the full supplied length for 9700 series modules without any troubles. If you are making your own and need more length, consider using two sets of wires. Avoid putting VCOs or Preamps which rely on stiffer, cleaner supply voltages out at the ends of longer than usual cab...

Re: ticking in roctave divider

The solder joint at the lower left in the image linked below looks to be one with the resistor leg, bent over against the pad, and the solder floating on top -- resulting in the two wires touched together but not joined as "one", or, a marginal joint. Images can be deceptive, but it wouldn't hurt to...

Re: slew module?

This simple circuit, posted in another section of PAiA Talk, can be constructed on a DIP IC experimenter's board for four channels of cv slewing and fit to a FRBlank panel for use in a 9700 series system: http://paia.com/talk/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=735

Re: audio signal INTO L2E converter?

Yes, audio can be patched through this section or the inverter/gain section, or, the two series-connected. The non-linear transfer through the L2E section would work to alter the waves from a VCO's triangle or sine waves, or, exaggerate signal peaks of music from a CD, MP3, etc. Settings could be su...

Re: PAIA Phlanger - Troubleshooting Tips

Back when these still came through here for service, we'd use a cloth towel to space the board, attached to the case pieces with line cord and connector wiring, from the case metal when powering the unit for trouble-shooting/testing. Be mindful of the mains voltage on the bottom of the board as cont...
