Check the transistors

Post by PAiA-Scott »

It wasn't unusual for transistors provided in kits to have a different case and pin-out than that indicated on the circuit board graphic.

There were notes prepared to go along with the substitutes, but it is possible they could have been omitted by mistake, or, overlooked.

This pdf matches the transistors and the graphics on the printed circuits board.

One not shown is the 2N4871 but these had always been in the D shaped TO-92 case style without any variations in pin-out; however, late 4720 VCO modules might have a MU-10 substituted for the 2N4871 (with a 330 ohm added to link the center leg to the board).
