9720 increase Attack time of AD envelope

Post by James »

Is it possible to increase the Attack time of the AD envelope on this module? Can I swap out the Attack potentiometer for one with a higher resistance value, or perhaps there is a resistor somewhere on board that I can change out to a larger resistance value?

Same question as above for the Decay time.

hello james,
assuming R200 is the "attack" pot u are refferring to (5M)
"attack" happens when Q4 is enabled:
then current flows thru diode D4, then thru R200, then R207 to charge C22.
Increasing R207 will increase "attack" time.
R200 is already very large (5M) so, try a resistor 10x larger at R207 (7500ohm)

To increase "attack" AND "decay", double the value of C22.

Hope this helps..

awesome! Yes, R200 is what I was thinking of changing. Thanks so much toneman. I'll increase the size of C22 to get nice long AD envelopes. Just to be sure, R95 won't need adjusting? due to larger size C22.

don't see a "R95"(?)

the resistors in series with attack and decay don't need to be changed if u increase C22.
For increasing both attack and decay, just increase C22.

just add another 1mfd in parallel with C22.

Maybe add a switch to switch-in one or more parallel caps.

Keep that Paia Phlying!!

replaced the 1uF capacitor with 4.7uf and I am in slow fade heaven! almost an 8 minute AD cycle when fully opened up. :D :D
Simply Awesome! can't thank you enough for the help.

I'm going to look for the capacitor in the modulator section of the filter next and change it out.
