Soldering Help...

Post by warpandwoof »

It's been a while since I've done some soldering, and I'm using a different iron, and I did some not-so-pretty work on the first round of resistors (only realized it when I flipped the board over - looked great from the bottom).

I *know* this is a stupid question, but indulge me: if I meter the resistor from one lead to an open hole that is connected through the board back to the other lead, and it meters correctly and consistently, is this evidence of a solid connection regardless of somewhat boogered-up-ness?

Thanks people!

Yes, there is likely a solid connection, but be careful about continuing to feed solder to the heated joint as it will flow through the hole and accumulate on the top side of the board.

Thanks! Yeah, I had to use my solder sucker to suck away the solder there because of my sucky soldering technique. :)
