I was just wondering what additional gear might be needed make any of these cards work, for instance: EKx-30 EKx-30 EKx-30 VCA, 8785 Linear Digital to Analog Converter, EKX 40 vco, EKX 20 VCF, etc.

Having built the EKx-30 dual VCA, the only other items needed were the power supply (bipolar: plus 15v, ground, neg 15v) and jacks. Connections come out to the edge of the card. Rather than using the the edge card socket, I just soldered wires to the pcb holes, just above the edge "fingers."
The original kits included the card (the pcb), the Curtis chip and components, and the information sheet. The information sheet is enough information to build the unit, but it is not as detailed as standard PAIA manuals. Kits did not include a panel.
The 8785 D/A converter requires interfacing with a computer.
